  • Street Construction Scheduled for Friley Road

    Street improvements to Friley Road, from Gaskill Drive to Beach Avenue, will begin on Monday, June 27. Friley Road from Gaskill Drive east to mid-block will close initially for sanitary sewer main spot repairs. These repairs are anticipated to take three days, after which this section of street will reopen. The next step (Phase 1 on the map) will close Friley Road from mid-block east to Beach Avenue for three to four weeks. This will allow for sanitary sewer main spot repairs, pavement removal, and pavement replacement. A final step will include pavement replacement for the western section of Friley Road. The City of Ames has contracted with Manatt’s, Inc., to complete these improvements.

  • Repair Work Continues on South Franklin

    Street improvements on South Franklin Avenue from Tripp to Coy streets will continue on Thursday, June 23. Traffic will be allowed through the work zone, however some residents will have limited access to driveways, and there will be no on-street parking. The work is anticipated to last six to eight days depending on weather.

  • Repair Work Scheduled for Ashmore Drive

    Ashmore Drive, west of Ashmore Court to Ash Avenue, will close on Tuesday, June 21, for repairs. The closure is anticipated to last five to seven days depending on weather conditions.
