    After years of planning, 35 months of construction, and weeks of testing, the new Ames Water Treatment Plant, 1800 E. 13th St., is now supplying water throughout the community.

  • Rummage RAMPage Raises $14,000; Diverts Tons of Items from Landfill, Helps Non-Profits

    The second annual Rummage RAMPage, a community sale designed to keep reusable items from being thrown away, far surpassed expectations by diverting 77,520 pounds of furniture and housewares from the landfill and raising $14,000 for local non-profit agencies. In its second year, Rummage RAMPage nearly tripled its revenue and increased by 72 percent the amount of diverted materials.

  • New Water Plant Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, Open House Planned for August 26

    The Water and Pollution Control Department will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Saturday, August 26, to showcase the newly completed Ames Water Treatment Plant, located at 1800 E. 13th St. The ribbon cutting will be held at 9 a.m., and the open house will continue until 1 p.m. Participants may park at the facility, and overflow parking will be available on the north side of 13th Street at marked parking lots. A shuttle will bring people to the new facility.
