  • Water Valve Work Along East 13th Street Planned

    A project to replace water valves in connection with the opening of the new Water Treatment Plant will disrupt traffic flow on East 13th Street at Dayton Avenue on Friday and Saturday.

  • Airport Hangar Ribbon-Cutting Set for April 8

    The public is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting celebration for the new Ames Municipal Airport Hangar and to welcome the new fixed base operator (FBO), Central Iowa Air Service, to the community. The event is planned from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, at the Ames Municipal Airport, 2501 Airport Drive. A brief program will be held at 9 a.m.

  • Ames Firefighter Steve Buser Dies

    The City of Ames is saddened to announce the line of duty death of firefighter Steve Buser, 51, who passed away after a medical emergency this morning at Fire Station No. 2. He had been with the Ames Fire Department since Nov. 18, 1999.
