  • Firefighters Respond to Townhouse Fire

    At approximately 7:15 a.m. Ames Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at 4020 Fletcher Boulevard. Upon arrival, firefighters noticed smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters were notified that all occupants had exited the townhouse safely.

  • City Responds to Intense Rainfall Overnight

    Areas of Ames experienced up to five inches of rain overnight, leading to extensive street flooding and a rise in river levels. An intense, slow-moving storm caused localized flooding on many City streets. Rising water in the streets caused damage to 14 vehicles. A number of homes and apartments also experienced water damage.

  • Mayor's Downtown "Healthiest State Walk" is October 5

    Ames residents are welcome to join Mayor Ann Campbell and members of the Ames City Council at the sixth annual Mayor’s Downtown “Healthiest State Walk” beginning at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at City Hall, 515 Clark Ave. Participants should gather on the plaza in front of the building.
