  • Street Repairs Planned in West Ames

    Dotson Drive, from the West Hy-Vee entrance to south of Baughman Road, will close for five to seven days for street improvements beginning on Tuesday, July 5. No vehicles will be allowed through the construction zone. Future improvements include street repairs on Baughman Road, Beedle Drive, Wellons Drive, Wellons Circle, Jeffrey Lane, Harris Street, and Aplin Road. The work will be divided into phases and is anticipated to last a total of 12 to 16 weeks.

  • Repair Work Continues on South Franklin

    Street improvements on South Franklin Avenue, from Tripp to Coy streets, will continue on Wednesday, July 6. The work is anticipated to take six to eight days, depending on weather. The street will be closed to traffic from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day until reconstruction of the curb, gutter, and driveway approaches are complete on the west side of the street.

  • Street Construction Continues on Friley Road

    Friley Road from Beach Avenue west to mid-block will close for four to five weeks for pavement removal and replacement beginning Tuesday, July 5. The City of Ames has contracted with Manatt’s, Inc. for street improvements including pavement removal and replacement, as well as storm and sanitary sewer improvements.
